bcs history
Benoit Consulting Services was founded in a modest way during my transition from the corporate world to home when my third child was arriving. I used my HR expertise to create practical tools for a few local companies. When I later entered graduate school in 1991, I began a nonprofit career that would include clinical social work and nonprofit operations management that continues today through my consultancy.
I gave up my “day job” in 2002 and began earning a living providing management consulting to nonprofit corporations. After publishing my first book at the encouragement of a colleague, Nonprofit Governance: practical tools for building boards, BCS activities began to focus on speaking, writing and consulting.
The achievement of my Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification in 2009 resulted in the addition of more targeted human resources solutions. This allowed me to expand my consulting to Human Resource issues in the for-profit area.
I work independently with a home-office and low overhead. Speaking engagements have received attention with the increased exposure of my online publishing on a range of management and employee relations topics. The topic that continues to get the most attention in 2012 is Workplace Culture and the challenge of managing and disciplining Toxic Employees.
